Being a PR and digital marketing agency usually means we make a lot of noise for our clients, but this October we indulged ourselves a little to celebrate 10 years of Effective Communication.

It’s been a great month and a lot of incredible things have happened, so we wanted to write this quick post to share those moments with you.

A few weeks ago Alastair, Sara, Rhys, Nathan, and Ben all took part in a head shave to raise funds for Cancer Research Wales, they weren’t the only ones, in total 25 people took part. The goal was to raise £5,000 for charity and as it stands we’ve currently raised £11,000 which is an incredible achievement, so thank you to everyone who helped us!

What’s the point celebrating a big event if there isn’t a party? That’s exactly what we thought! So to celebrate 10 years of Effective Communication we decided to get a big group of friends, colleagues, and acquaintances together at Cardiff Museum.

It was a great night full of chat, drinks, food, and music from the brilliant String Quartet Company and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who was able to come. We’ve got a photo collection from the night on our Facebook page. The link to the album can be found here. Go and have a look, and if you spot yourself feel free to get tagging!

On October 17 we attended the CIPR Pride Cymru awards, it’s the biggest event of the year for Welsh PR agencies, and after winning a few GOLD awards in 2014 we’d be lying if we said we didn’t want to win more this year! That being said we were competing with some amazing agencies and organisations across Wales so even scooping one award would have been great.

Amazingly we scooped the biggest award of them all! For a second year running we were named ‘Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy’ and it was a massive surprise! It now means Effective Communication has won ten CIPR Cymru Gold awards in just four years, and we’re pretty proud of that!

In 10 years a lot of things have changed, but we’d like to think our wins at the CIPR Pride Cymru awards show that we’re always on the move trying new things to be successful for our clients.

So we definitely won’t be resting on our laurels, and hopefully there will be more success to come in the future!
